Foreign National Student Intern Program (FNSIP)

Open to: All Interested College, Technical Institute, University Students (non-U.S. citizen students)

Position: 

Seoul - Consulate Busan, CLO, DHS/CBP, ECON, Protocol, FCS, GSO, KWC, PD, POL, MGT, ATO

Opening Date:  August 5, 2024
Closing Date: (extended to) August 26, 2024 (11:59 PM, KST)

Foreign National Student Intern Program
The Foreign National Student Intern Program is designed for students who are non-U.S. citizens seeking internships with U.S. Missions abroad.  Students will gain valuable experience in various areas of foreign policy and management, and possible academic credit in respective institution.  There are no benefits, compensation, or any future employment rights attached to student participation in the FNSIP.

Period of Internship
The internship period will be determined between the applicant and section during the interview.  The internship will begin around December/January 2025 for a maximum of six months.  A Certificate of Internship will be issued for students who complete at least 90 days of the program.  Please check the required period of internship for the position for which you are applying.

How to Apply

Step 1 : Fill out Application form and submit - https://forms.office.com/g/JRdE6Gg7HJ 

Step 2 : Fill out and attach three documents below as ONE PDF file and email to seoulFNSIP@state.gov. You MUST indicate your name, section which you apply to in the subject line in the email.

Attachments 

  1. FNSIP STATEMENT OF INTEREST - The applicant’s printed name will be accepted on the signature line.
  2. FNSIP COLLEGE PERMISSION FORM - Ink or electronic signature is required on the signature line.
  3. TRANSCRIPT - Must be in good academic standing. (Admission Letter is accepted for Graduate students.)

You must submit all required documents for acceptance of your application before the closing date, August 26th (11:59PM, KST).

Once qualified candidates are selected for interviews, applicants will be contacted.
